Course Overview
This graduate certificate is a specialised vocational qualification and will give students the opportunity to gain powerful body-based skills for responding to the stressors of our experiences and environment.

Through acute observation and practice, students learn to identify both easily observed neuromuscular movement and the more subtle physiological activity that underlies movement. Students are trained to use hands-on techniques to assist movement re-patterning as well as provide verbal instruction to support clients’ self-awareness.

Students will also learn many of the elements common to other forms of psychotherapy, including counselling, mental health challenges and self care. This vocational qualification has a broad application across all areas of the Allied Health modalities and is suitable for those professionals wishing to expand and enhance their movement therapy, tactile, counselling or psychotherapy skills.

Movement Therapy embraces principles from many movement forms, which can include ancient Asian movement, martial arts and meditation forms like yoga, Laban (LaaRbun) Movement analysis, Bartenieff and Bonnie Bainbridge-Cohen Fundamentals.
