This qualification reflects the roles of community services, case management and social housing workers involved in the managing, co-ordinating and/or delivering of person-centred services to individuals, groups and communities.
Students gain the expertise and knowledge necessary to effectively facilitate case management in both private and government roles within the community services industry, assess and analyse client needs, communicate effectively with clients and staff, and support client self-management.
This course can be studied in 2 different formats, both of which contain 12 modules.

Modules 1 to 11 are coursework, and Module 12 is a 100 hour practical placement in an approved organisation with supervision provided by IKON staff.
Placement is undertaken at the conclusion of the coursework modules and is in addition to the advised course duration.
Format 1: Duration 12 months plus placement
Modules 1-11 are 4 weeks in duration. In weeks 1 & 2, students attend two consecutive days per week, each week.
Weeks 3 & 4 consist of self directed learning and completion assessment tasks. There is one optional two-hour, online support session in weeks 3 or 4, for each module.
Student’s should allow for an additional 12-15 hours per week of self directed study, to complete online tasks, assignments and readings.
Format 2: Duration 24 months plus placement
Modules 1-11 are 6 weeks in duration. In weeks 2 and 4, students attend two days per week.
Weeks 1, 3 , 5 & 6 consist of preparation, self directed learning and completion of assessment tasks.
There will be one optional, two-hour online support session in weeks 5 or 6 of each module.
Student’s should allow for an additional 8 hours per week of self directed study, to complete online tasks, assignments and readings.

At this level, workers have specialised skills in community services and work autonomously under broad directions from senior management. Workers are usually providing direct support to individuals or groups of individuals.
Workers may also have responsibility for the supervision of other workers and volunteers and/or case management; program coordination or the development of new business opportunities.
